BOARD OF TRUSTEES - SPECIAL MEETING
PUBLIC HEARING
TAYLORVIEW JUNIOR HIGH AUDITORIUM
November 2, 2011

Dave Lent, Board Chair, called the meeting to at 7:05 PM
NEW TECH AND PROPOSED SECONDARY SCHOOL CHANGES
Mr. Lent and Superintendent Boland presented a PowerPoint regarding the proposed changes at the secondary
ththth
level. The changes include moving 9 graders to the high schools, having 7 and 8 grade middle schools and
repurposing Clair E Gale as a magnet high school. The Board is proposing these changes to help students, and the
District, meet the requirements of the Students Come First Legislation passed last spring. Superintendent Boland
and the Board responded to questions after the presentation. The information presented tonight will be posted on
the district website for review with a link included to provide feedback. Tonight’s meeting was the last of three
public meetings held to share this information with patrons. Mr. Lent invited community members to contact the
Board if they’d like to schedule a presentation for their organization.
