Special Board Meeting Minutes
March 20, 2001
Executive Session -Personnel, 567-2345(b), XAHO CODE
It was moved by Alan Reed and seconded by Jerry Wixom to enter Executive Session to
review a personnel matter. Time: 8:30 P.M. Motion passed.
Open Session
It was moved by Ernest Jensen and seconded by Sharon Parry to return to Open Meeting.
Time: 8:37 P.M. Motion passed.
Social Studies Adoption
It was moved by Jerry Wixom and seconded by Ernest Jensen to accept the
recommendation of the Social Studies Textbook Committee and place the materials on
community review for thirty days. A recommendation far adoption will be presented to
the Board of Trustees on Apri124, 2001. Motion passed.
Unofficial Results of Supplemental Levy Election
Assistant Superintendent Ken Schow introduced the following individuals and expressed
great appreciation for their efforts in delivering the message regarding the Supplemental
Levy to the community:
Frank McGovern, Spokesperson for the Supplemental Levy
Sheila Olsen
PTQ and Youth Organization Leaders
Special thanks for the efforts of the Officers and members of the Idaho Falls
Education Association.
Superintendent Manning acknowledged and thanked Ken Schow and Desi Laughlin,
Levy co-chairs, for their efforts regarding the levy.
Unofficial Levy Results
Trustee Ernest Jensen moved and Trustee Sharon Parry seconded that the unofficial
results of the election be accepted and entered into the records of the School District No.
91. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Aye: 5 Nay 0 Motion passed.
Unofficial results: Yes Votes: 3,241 No Votes: 1,383 Total Votes Cast: 41624
Fercentage of Yes Votes: 70.1%
ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Jerry Wixom and seconded by Robert Collette to
adjourn the Special rraeeting. Time: 9:47 F.M. Motion passed.
