Board Meeting Minutes
February 22, 2000
"Good News" School: Fox Hollow Elementary offered a program which included their
Volunteer of the Month Becky Leatham, a Millennium presentation and a performance by the
Fox Hollow Chorus. The colors were posted and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Girl Scout
Troop #421.
ADOPTION OF TIME AGENDA
It was moved by Alan Reed and seconded by Sharon Parry to adopt the agenda with one change.
The Skyline Student Representative report was moved to the beginning of the meeting. Motion
passed.
Skyline student representative Anne Cheney reported on a successful fundraising effort, student
elections and a proposed Internet program for Skyline students and alumni.
SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY
The Board of Trustees and Administration honored Emissary of Excellence for February,
Annette Perez, a Migrant Tutor at Erickson Elementary. Annette works many volunteer hours in
addition to her regular duties to assist the students at Erickson.
CONSENT AGENDA
It was moved by Ernest Jensen and seconded by Sharon Parry to approve the Consent Agenda
which included the following items ofbusiness: Motion Passed.
• Matching Fund Requests: Eagle Rack Junior High School: Computer Equipment
$4,574.64. Skyline High School: Athletic Equipment and Ice Machine: $4,090.00
Total amount of matching funds awarded to date: $4I,907.G7
• Student Travel Requests: Taylorview Girls' Choir and Skyline Cheerleaders
• Bid Award: Idaho Falls High School `B' Wing Renovation -Awarded to Snook
Construction in the amount of $751,497.
• Renewal of the Superintendent's Contract
REPORTS
Superintendent's Report: Superintendent Manning reported on the ISSA meeting held in Boise
last week which included highlights from talks given by Faul Houston and Jim Shackelford.

INFORMATION/DISCUSSION ITEMS
Assistant Superintendent Ken Schow informed the Board of Trustees that reEnancing of the
1990 building bond would save $98,000 per year over the next ten (10) years. This represents
cost savings to the District and its patrons of $980,000. Trustee Jerry Wixom commended Mr.
Schow for his fiscal competence on behalf of the District and patrons.
Executive Session: Personnel, Section 67-2345(b), IDAHO CODE
It was moved by Jerry Wixom and seconded by Sharon Parry to enter Executive Session to
discuss personnel issues. Motion passed. Time: 8:22 P.M.
Return to Open Session
It was moved by Jerry Wixom and seconded by Ernest Jensen to return to Open Session. Motion
passed.
ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Jerry Wixom and seconded by Ernest Jensen to adjourn the
meeting. Motion passed. Time: 9:02 P.M.
