Board Working Lunch Meeting Minutes
October 24, 2006

Chairman Jerry Wixom called the board meeting to order.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Guy Wangsgard.
ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
Mary Ann Smith moved and Tracie Miller seconded the motion to adopt the agenda as written with the
addition of item d.) ISBA Resolution. Motion passed.
WORK SESSION
SCHOOL SAFETY:
Randy Hurley, Principal of Idaho Falls High School presented the progress of the three year School
Safety Grant received for 2004-2007. Randy, together with Heidi Crouch, a teacher at Idaho Falls
High School, has worked to identify and implement five objectives for collaborating with community
agencies. Heidi passed out a folder containing handouts that list what has been done and what still
needs to be completed.
SCHOOL CALENDAR 2008-2009:
Dennis Griffeth, Principal of Ethel Boyes Elementary School represented the Calendar Committee and
proposed four calendars to the Board of Trustees for the 2008-2009 School Year. The committee
recommended the third calendar B) 2. Long Christmas and Spring Break.
INTERNAL CONTROLS:
Guy Wangsgard, Director of Business Functions, presented the board with a handout summarizing the
procedures that the Business Functions Department uses for receiving and depositing money, purchase
orders, petty cash, reimbursements, purchase cards, warehouse orders and payroll. The procedures in
place are all approved by Galusha, Higgins & Galusha, PC, the accounting firm contracted to conduct
the district financial audit.
Mary Ann Smith motioned to adjourn, Tracie Miller seconded the motion. Motion passed.
