Chairman Warden called the meeting to order at 5:35 pm.
ADOPT AGENDA
Trustee Lent made a motion to adopt the agenda. Trustee Haws provided the second. Motion carried 4
ayes, 0 nays.
DISCUSSION
Chairman Warden asked Supt. Boland to conduct the interviews. Superintendent Boland reviewed a slate
of questions, gathered from previous trustee interviews and the Idaho School Board Association. A
discussion was held and a final list of questions compiled. Superintendent Boland indicated that thirty
minutes would be allotted for each interview this evening and board members could ask questions or
provide additional information as needed.
INTERVIEWS FOR ZONE 3 TRUSTEE VACANCY
The following candidates were interviewed to fill the Zone 3 seat being vacated by Lisa Burtenshaw who is
resigning. The Zone 3 seat will be up for election again in November 2019 so whoever is appointed will
have to run for election if they choose to continue serving on the board.

A discussion was held. Board members were asked to rank the candidates and a consensus was reached.
Chairman Warden stated the board is very grateful and appreciative of the four strong candidates from
the community who applied for the vacancy and it will be a difficult decision to make. Superintendent
Boland will contact Lara Hill to offer the position and then notify the others. The new trustee is scheduled
to be sworn into office at the work session meeting on September 26, 2018.
ACTION ITEM
a. Appoint Zone 3 Trustee
Trustee Haws made a motion to appoint Lara Hill as the new Zone 3 Trustee of Idaho Falls School
District 91 replacing Trustee Lisa Burtenshaw. Trustee Wilson provided the second. No further
discussion. Motion carried 4 ayes, 0 nays.
Trustee Lent made motion to adjourn. Trustee Haws provided the second. Motion carried 4 ayes, 0 nays.
The meeting adjourned at 7:43 PM.
