SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

Board Chair Mary Ann Smith called the meeting to order.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mary Ann Smith.
WORK SESSION
1.Mary Ann Smith invited members of the public to introduce themselves. Melinda Cebull, past president of
Theresa Bunker’s PTO; Kathy Erikson, PTO president of Edgemont and Karen Parsons, past PTO president of
Longfellow, spoke about their desire for the school board to appoint a board member who would have an
active presence in the schools.
2.The board interviewed Lisa Burtenshaw and Steve Cannon, the finalists for the Zone 3 seat, which is being
vacated by Mary Ann Smith.
3.Mary Ann Smith called for a motion. Jerry Wixom made a motion to name Steve Cannon to the Zone 3
position. Ernest Jensen seconded the motion.

David Lent – nay Ernest Jensen - nay
Deidre Warden – nay
4.Deidre made a motion to name Lisa Burtenshaw to the Zone 3 position being vacated by Mary Ann Smith.
David Lent seconded the motion.

Ernest Jensen – aye Jerry Wixom – aye
Mary Ann Smith - aye
5.Mary Ann Smith made a motion to adjourn. David Lent seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned.
