Board Meeting Minutes
September 11, 2001
The Board of Trustees met in closed session at 11:30 to discuss personnel and negotiation
items as per Idaho Code. Member Robert Collette was excused.
Opening Ceremonies
Vice Chairman Ernest Jensen led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Consent Agenda
It was moved by Ernest Jensen and seconded by Sharon Parry to approve the Consent
Agenda which included the minutes of August 28, 2001, the payment of claims and staff
action items. Motion passed.
Reports
There were no Patron reports or IFEA report.
0 Superintendent's Report
Comments were made relating to the current events of the day.
Superintendent Manning reviewed enrollments for the first week of school. The numbers
reflect a loss of 70 students, the majority of which are in kindergarten. These numbers
are soft and will become more stable after the first few weeks of school.
Ken Schow reviewed the Governor's holdback of funds to public schools. The holdback
would amount to a loss of $566,127 to District 91. In January, the legislature will
determine what steps will be taken regarding the holdback.
Action Items
September 13, 2001 Board Meeting: It was moved by Sharon Parry and seconded by
Ernest Jensen to hold a special Board meeting on Thursday, September 13, 2001, at 8:30
P.M. to accept the unofficial results of the School Plant Facility election. Motion passed.
Adjournment
It was moved by Jerry Wixom and seconded by Sharon Parry to adjourn the meeting.
