Board Meeting Minutes
Administration Office
July 1, 2003
7:00 P.M.
Chairman Alan Reed called the meeting to order and welcomed guests.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ernest Jensen.
Alan Reed administered the trustee oath of office to Jared D. Fuhriman, new Trustee of Zone III.
Superintendent Murdoch distributed information regarding the transportation budget. This
information included Board Policy and Idaho Code regarding responsibility for administration of
the district policies.
Dr. Murdoch discussed the reasons the transportation budget has grown to 147% of the state
average, resulting in a $500,000 budget problem. He outlined the proposed plan to reduce costs
over time to come within 110% of state average. This plan reduces 13 routes and staggers school
starting times as follows:
Junior and Senior High Schools: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Westview High School York Campus: 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Westview High School Night Campus: 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Bunker, Fox Hollow, Linden Park and Temple View: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Boyes, Bush, Edgemont, Emerson, Hawthorne, and Osgood: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Erickson, Longfellow, Sunnyside and Westside: 8:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.
The State Office of Performance Evaluations will conduct an on -site audit of our transportation program on
August 5 and 6, 2003.
Jerry Wixom moved and Ernest Jensen seconded the motion to move to Executive Session. Motion passed.
Ernest Jensen moved and Jerry Wixom seconded the motion to move to Open Session. Motion passed.
