Ernest Jensen called the meeting to order. Jared Fuhriman moved and Jerry Shively seconded the
motion to move to executive session. Motion passed.
Jerry Wixom moved and Jared Fuhriman seconded the motion to move to open session. Motion
passed.
OPENING CEREMONIES
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jerry Wixom.
EMMISARY OF EXCELLENCE
Gene Baird, Supervisor of Custodial Services, introduced Larraine Butler, Head Custodian at
Taylorview Jr. High. Mr. Baird expressed thanks to Mrs. Butler for her fine work. Sharon Parry
commended Mrs. Butler and awarded her the Emissary of Excellence Award.
ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
Jerry Shively moved to adopt the agenda with the addition of one personnel item to the III d.
Personnel. Jerry Wixom seconded the motion. Motion passed.
STUDENT TRAVEL REQUESTS
Sharon Parry moved and Jared Fuhriman seconded the motion to approve travel for the IFHS Future
Problem Solving team to the International Conference June Is'— June 5th at Lexington, Kentucky.
Motion passed.
Jerry Shively moved and Sharon Parry seconded the motion to approve travel for the Skyline High
School Royal Blue Ensemble to New York City, April 6th — loth, 2006 to sing in Carnegie Hall.
Motion passed.
Jared Fuhriman moved and Jerry Shively seconded the motion to deny the request for Sunnyside
Elementary to privately fund afield trip for bth graders to the Riot Zone. Motion passed 4-1.

REPORTS
Student Reports — None
Patron Input — None
IFEA Report
Gene Lund, IFEA President, reported that the Delegate Assembly was held April 28, 29 and 30, with
a variety of meetings. Great teachers were memorialized, and many discussions were held. Mr. Lund
reminded the Board of the retirement dinner Thursday night at the Shilo with a 6:30 social hour and
dinner at 7:00 p.m.
Superintendent's Report
Dr. Murdoch reported that 21,000 ISAT tests have been given with an error rate of only 3 per 1,000.
Over 400 teacher applicants have been interviewed. We have had 44 resignations, with 29 new hires.
Meetings regarding the Civic Auditorium are on -going.
PROPOSALS — None
ACTION ITEMS
Jared Fuhriman moved and Jerry Shively seconded the motion to adopt the K-12 Physical Education
Curriculum. Motion passed.
Sharon Parry moved and Jerry Wixom seconded the motion to approve early graduation for student
2004-05D. Motion passed.
Jared Fuhriman moved and Jerry Wixom seconded the motion to accept the recommendation for
expulsion for student 2004-05C. Motion passed.
Sharon Parry moved and Jerry Shively seconded the motion to approve reconfiguration of Westview
High School as a stand alone accredited alternative high school. Motion passed.
Jerry Shively moved and Jerry Wixom seconded the motion to declare Jared Fuhriman elected as
trustee in Zone 3 for a three (3) year term. Motion passed.
Sharon Parry moved and Jerry Wixom seconded the motion to approve the engagement of the firm,
Galusha, Higgins and Galusha to conduct an audit of Idaho Falls School District 491's funding
activities for the year ending June 30, 2005. Motion passed.
Jerry Wixom moved and Jerry Shively seconded the motion to adjourn. Motion passed.
