1-2 PRF Student
Student Copy Form 1-2 © 2006 University of Oregon Carla was thrilled. Today, she would take her dog to a show. The best dog at the show would win a prize. Carla hoped her dog would win because she loved her dog. She thought he should win a prize. But first, Carla had to get her dog ready for the show. To begin, she gave him a bath. She put him in the bathtub. She washed him with lots of warm water. She used soap that would not hurt his eyes. Then, she rinsed him off and dried him with an enormous fuzzy towel. When he was dry, she brushed him. She brushed his black fur until it started to shine. She thought he looked very good. Once her dog was clean and dry, Carla put a new collar around his neck. She made sure it was not too loose. She did not want it to slip over his head. She also made sure it was not too tight. She did not want it to make it hard for her dog to breathe. Finally, Carla snapped a new leash on the collar. She decided they were ready for the show. Carla’s mom took her to the park in town where the show was taking place. There were many dogs there. Some of the dogs were big and others were quite small. One of them did tricks. Carla’s dog walked beside her and looked up at her. With his tongue hanging out, it looked almost like he was smiling at her. She hoped the judge would like him.
