Discuss Guide children to see the relationship between each word and the category of space travel. Read Aloud Explain that you will read aloud a story about the fi rst people to go to the Moon. Categorize and Classify Reread and Explain Reread “Going to the Moon.” At the end of each sentence that includes an oral vocabulary word, stop and repeat the explanation of the word. Use the defi nitions and examples from Day 1 and Day 3. Guide Partner Activities Have partners work together to complete each of the activities below. Circulate and listen to partners as they work. Provide corrective feedback. Describe Tell a partner about a time when you used a computer. Did you use the keyboard? Do you think a program told the computer what to do? Why or why not? Draw Work with a partner. Make up an electric machine, such as a robot that cooks. Then draw a picture of your machine. Role-Play Pretend you are an astronaut visiting a classroom.
