EXECUTIVE SESSION 5:00 PM
At 5:00 pm Chairwoman Radcliffe called for a motion to go into Executive Session. Trustee Ricks made a motion to go into
Executive Session IDAHO CODE §74-206 (1)(b) Personnel and (j)Negotiations. Trustee Westwood provided the second.
A roll call vote was taken:

Board of Trustees met in Executive Session to discuss personnel and negoatiation matters. Executive Session concluded at 5:45
pm.
Business Meeting called to order at 5:45 PM by Chairwoman Radcliffe. Pledge of Allegiance led by Chairwoman Radcliffe.
ADOPT AGENDA
Chairwoman Radcliffe requested a motion to adopt the agenda. Trustee Haacke made a motion to adopt the agenda.

REPORTS/INPUT/INFORMATION
A. Patron Input: Agenda Items (Sign-in required) Patron input forms are attached to the board agenda.
B. Student Reports
Idaho Falls High School - Student Representative Olivia Peterson provided an update on activities which included
information on an update on athletics, Student Government elections are complete with new student body president
Daniel Hillam and Senior class president Ava Thompson. She also states that graduation is next week at the Mountain
America Center.
Compass Academy - Student Representative Elijah Zeller introduces the student bodys's new communcations director
Joshua Rodriguez for the upcoming school year. Joshua provided an update on activities which included excitement for
summer from all students and teachers and the class schedule concerns for the upcoming school y ear.
Skyline High School - Student Representative Tyler Swan provided an update on activities which included information
on Hope week, AP testing completion, Teacher Appreciation week, new student body President is Jessica Venegas,
and shout out to D91 maintenance for the ongoing issues.
C. Celebrations
Superintendent LaOrange expains the Mayor's Scholarship and the history of last years recipents. She celebrates and thanks
many of the teachers and counselors that worked hard with our students for the Mayor's Scholarship. She states this year D91
took 49% of the Mayor Scholarships.
Superintendent LaOrange instroduces the Power of One Recognition , meaning one person can truly make a difference in the
district or community. This recognition goes to Keri-Anne Spears for organizing the Grizzlies Unite Prom. She celebrate her and
all the work and planning for the students to have a wonderful night, a night for all students to remember. Principal Newell
speaks volumes on Keri-Anne and her love for her students. He also thanks Vice Principal Dave Neilsen for all his help with her
class as well.
Superintendent LaOrange then celebrates the IFHS Tennis Club for their donation of benches to the TAC facility. The senior class
has worked hard on this project and the district is thankful for the work and donation.

E. School Report and Student Achievement
Superintendent LaOrange introduces Principal Michale Keyes from Emerson Alternative High School and Principal Bev Hott from
CTEC. They present their school and student achievement reports, which is attached in board agenda.
F. Finance Update
Director of Finance, Lanell Farmer presented a budget summary, which is attached to the board agenda.
G. IFEA Report IFEA report written report is acknowledged and is attached to the board agenda.
H. Secondary ELA Curriculum Recommendation
Secondary ELA Curriculum recommendation was presented by Todd Brown, Curriculum Coordinator. His PowerPoint is attached
to the board agenda.

Chairwoman Radcliffe requested a motion to approve the Consent Agenda 4A through 4H. Trustee Haacke states policy 4110
was not updated with change that was requested in the April 8, 2026 meeting and the minutes did not reflect the update
accurately.
The Board discusses more information needed for the Matching Funds for IFHS, so it is not approved at this time.
Trustee Haacke makes a motion to approve Consent Agenda 4A through 4H, without 4A Board Minutes for the Board Business
Meeting April 8, 2026 and 4D Matching Funds for IFHS.

Board asks about preventative maintenance and having contgiency plans if school is missed at any schools if school is closed for
multiple days. The Board discusses adding these questions to the July Work Session for further discussion.

Trustee Westwood states he appreciated the additional security at the Dora Erickson Elementary the day after.
Superintendent recommends approval of the Emergency Closure for Compass Academy May 7, 2026. Trustee Westwood makes
a motion to approve the Emergency Closure for Compass Academy May 7, 2026 due to a gun threat and the recommendation of
the Idaho Falls Police Department.

D. New School Bus Purchase
Superintendent LaOrange reviews information given for the bus purchase, which is attached to the board agenda. Lanell Farmer
adds that funding for new buses has been saved per state statute. The Board discusses the funding and reimbursement for bus
purchasing. Ralph Frost, Director of Transportation provides clarification on seating and engine specifications for the buses.
Superintendent recommends approval for the New School Bus Purchase, as presented. Trustee Westwood makes a motion to
approve the New School Bus Purchase, as presented, with next years budget.
