TITLE: Gifted Facilitator - Secondary
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education, classes in gifted education preferred.
Valid Idaho Standard Secondary certificate with an endorsement in reading.
A minimum of three years experience as a successful teacher in a secondary school.
Demonstrated ability to use current educational computer software in a classroom setting.
Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator.
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To provide gifted students with advanced learning and enrichment activities, experiences, and opportunities in specifically designated areas of curriculum.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as case manager, following state and local guidelines for identification of able learners who are enrolled at the assigned junior high school.
Teaches/facilitates appropriate curricular activities at the designated junior high school.
Participates in PACE program parent activities as requested.
Maintains compliance records for students placed in the PACE program.
Accompanies student to state competitions.
Develops curriculum for PACE classes based on current information and District direction.
Seeks out opportunities for professional growth.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a teacher, the Idaho Code of Ethics, and the negotiated contract.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will
be in accordance with the placement on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the negotiated master agreement and board policy.
