TITLE: Instructional Coach – Title I
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated success as a teacher
Experience working with children who are underperforming in reading, writing and/or math
Strong communication skills and the ability to coach/mentor others
Experience in curriculum development, professional development and data interpretation
Knowledge of Title I Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance program models
Knowledge of District 91 school improvement initiatives including evidence-based instructional strategies for reading and mathematics, sheltered instruction and differentiated instruction
Knowledge of assessment practices including universal screening, formative assessment and progress monitoring
Demonstrated effective use of instructional and assessment technology
Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons
Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate endorsed for appropriate levels and subjects
Meets highly qualified teacher requirements
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Student Achievement Director and Building Administrator
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
The Instructional Coach, as part of the Student Achievement and School Improvement team, will work with building principals, intervention specialists, classroom teachers and paraeducators
to provide direct support and assistance in the classroom to facilitate implementation of adopted curriculum, use of effective instructional strategies, use of data to improve student
achievement and compliance with Title I guidance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Forms strong professional relationships with colleagues
Communicates effectively with administrators, teachers and paraprofessionals
Provides model teaching lessons or side-by-side coaching based on classroom observations
Supports teacher learning by training and coaching staff in the implementation of adopted curriculum and evidence-based instructional strategies
Assists teachers and paraeducators in the development of effective classroom management strategies
Coordinates ongoing formative assessment and progress monitoring practices
Supports school intervention teams and collaborates regarding instructional decisions based on data
Uses data to monitor and evaluate program implementation
Works with teachers to help analyze data and improve instructional practices
Provides staff development to small or large groups of educators
Works collaboratively with teachers to use evidence-based reading strategies, cognitively-guided mathematics instruction and literacy techniques that support all content areas
Cultivates and models a respectful working and learning environment
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons
Has regular and predictable attendance

Performs all other duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a teacher, the Idaho Code of Ethics, and the negotiated contract.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will be
in accordance with the placement on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Student Achievement and School Improvement as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with provisions
of the negotiated master agreement and board policy.
