TITLE: Secondary Instructional Coach in the areas of PLC and MTSS Differentiation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree Preferred;
Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate;
Five or more years of successful classroom teaching experience and leadership in the PLC process preferred;
Provide evidence demonstrating a depth of knowledge in the PLC process, application of data to effect change in the classroom, and varied instructional techniques;
Provide evidence demonstrating the ability to differentiate on a multi-tiered level for all students.
Skills:
Communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse groups and audiences;
Ability to understand the expertise and perspective of others;
Promote flexibility and resiliency though thinking critically and creatively;
Ability to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to express ideas, thoughts, and instructions clearly;
Strong planning, organizational and presentation skills;
Design and analyze data reports;
Knowledge of:
Policies and regulation guidelines as they relate to classroom instruction;
Varied instructional methods addressing the needs of diverse learners.

REPORTS TO: Director of Secondary Education
JOB GOALS:
The Secondary Instructional Coach will support the instructional program in all secondary schools with an emphasis on the PLC (Professional Learning Community) process and MTSS (Multi-tier
System of Supports). This coach will facilitate and support the growth and development of all department PLC teams including supporting the facilitation of PLC team meetings as needed,
diagnosing and troubleshooting challenges within PLC teams, supporting teams through the collection and application of data, identification of resources, and assisting site leaders
with the delivery of professional learning when needed. Additionally, this coach will support schools in the MTSS process by identifying resources and strategies to target students
who may need extension or support in the general education classroom as well as in the creation and application of INOVA grids.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
( Facilitate and model effective collaborative communication to support professional learning communities;
( Assist in the interpretation and application of data and assessment results for all site and/or department PLC teams as needed;
( Support site and/or department PLC teams as needed, including direct facilitation, and use inquiry to facilitate insights and help teams to diagnose and overcome roadblocks;
( Complete needs assessment with PLC teams to identify areas of strength and areas for growth;
( Identify resources and strategies to increase PLC team effectiveness and efficacy;
( Assist site leadership in providing site professional learning to support teams in developing effective structures and protocols to work collaboratively;
( Become an expert among experts in the areas of content, product, process, and environmental differentiation and apply the knowledge as requested from school teams;
( Other duties, meeting attendance and completion of products as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all other duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a teacher, the Idaho Code of Ethics, and the negotiated contract.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will be in accordance with the placement on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and
education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Secondary Education in conjunction
with building-level administrators as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with provisions of the
negotiated master agreement and board policy.
