QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma.
Proficiency in secretarial skills of typing, filing, office procedures, operation of office equipment and machines, and computer functions.
Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
Two years experience in clerical or secretarial work requiring frequent contact with the public.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator.
JOB GOALS
To support the delivery of School District 91’s curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To assure accurate records for graduation progress, scheduling, and course guides.
To assist the school in creating authentic opportunities through community outreach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Requests and files records for incoming students
Enrolls students at the beginning of the year and at each trimester
Works with counselor and with district office to establish new courses and course guide work
Assists with state and national testing
Manages arena scheduling software and its connection to student management software
Assists in attendance procedures including truancy and parent notification
Assists in school tour coordination
Helps facilitators secure panelists for final product reviews
Seeks for ways that projects and students can connect to the community
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is scheduled for 8 hours per day, 206 days per year. The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the school and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance
with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 5.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment
at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty.
