TITLE: Printer – Office Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and/or specialized training in the field of printing.
Knowledge of paper sizes, weights and cutting procedures is desirable.
Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
Two years previous experience in field of printing and duplicating is preferred.
Experience in office procedures, accounting, and other business procedures
Strong organizational skills
Competence in the use of computers and business machines
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of Business
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To meet the District’s needs for publications as efficiently, economically, and expeditiously as possible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides prompt and efficient printing of materials generated and needed by District personnel.
Assists in the selection and ordering of duplicating materials and supplies as needed.
Files duplicating originals and maintains an adequate supply of standard forms as needed.
Maintains accurate records of printing and reproductions done for departments or schools for billing purposes.
Prints flyers, letters, programs, newsletters, single and multi-part forms as requested.
Operates a 19 5/8” Guillotine paper cutter, comb binding machine, Martin Tabletop folder, and Spinet paper drill.
Maintains the physical environment of the Print Shop in a neat and orderly manner.
Typesets brochures and forms as needed.
Works with customer to develop a printed product.
Orders specialty printing from outside vendors.
Produces a quality product in a timely fashion.
Consult with schools and programs to ensure efficient use of the print shop and all copying equipment and processes
Establish and maintain a district wide library of documents and forms
Supervises temporary printing assistants when needed.
Schedules jobs in the most efficient way to meet the customer’s needs.
Distributes incoming mail and process outgoing mail
Assists Director of Business with requested projects
Scan requested documentation to document archival system
Collect and deposit district receipts and reimbursements
Assists other departments with projects when time permits
Has regular and predictable attendance.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is scheduled for 8 hours per day, 241 days per year. Monday through Friday is considered to be the normal workweek. Emergency conditions may arise which will require
attention at any hour of the day or night. The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified
Salary Schedule as a Grade 6-8. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment
at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Business in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of medium duty.
