Excellent computer skills i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated skill in the use of formulas, charts, mail merge, formatting, and presentation development. Ability to learn student software records program. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and deadlines; must be able to manage multiple tasks and heavy workload. Must be able to work well under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines. Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direct supervision. Must be a team player; flexible and occasionally work beyond the scheduled hours. Ability to handle and maintain confidential documents as requested. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Achievement and School Improvement JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure the efficient operation of the Student Achievement and School Improvement office in order to maintain compliance with federal and state program guidance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides a variety of specialized administrative support in the areas of federal and state requirements, professional development and assessment. Assists in the communication of program information, including compliance requirements and deadlines, to school administrators and staff. Is responsible for receiving telephone and electronic correspondence, answering questions and directing inquiries to the appropriate person or department. Facilitates district professional development offerings, including working with course instructors and universities. Supports the implementation of district-wide professional development including scheduled professional development days, New Teacher Induction and October Inservice. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of the Student Achievement and School Improvement budget. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information. Maintains school and district compliance data. Prepares data for transmittal to the State Department of Education. Prepares a variety of semi-technical reports. Collects Home Language and Residency surveys and identifies students for appropriate programs. Processes ELL placement exams and language surveys for identification of LEP students throughout the District. Maintains Title I, Migrant, LEP, Homeless, ELL Kindergarten, and Bilingual Kindergarten records for all students who are enrolled during the current school year. Prepares electronic storage files of student and program data. Assists in coordination of services for homeless students. Assists in finding translation services as needed to enable the schools to maintain effective communication with Spanish speaking parents. Collects time and effort documentation, reviews for accuracy and submits to Payroll. Submits monthly mileage logs for reimbursement for program staff. Prepares and submits monthly purchasing card report for program staff. Completes travel and mileage requests and conference arrangements for program staff. Attends meetings as requested. Stays abreast of eligibility requirements, data entry requirements, and education and health records formats. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full-time position scheduled for 8 hours per day, 245 days per year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 8 to 10. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Student Achievement and School Improvement in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. The majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk working on the computer, answering the telephone, completing paperwork and scanning documents. Movement within the office is required to deliver documents and messages and gather information as needed. Travel to district schools and some out of district travel is required. This position requires work beyond the normal workday.
