TITLE: Detailing Crew Leader
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Idaho Driver’s License.
High School Diploma preferred.
Physically capable of performing assigned tasks.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and write and to understand operating instructions.
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Grounds Foreman
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement
Test.
To maintain the ground of all district schools in a condition of safety, neatness and aesthetic attractiveness so that each student may be provided with an outdoor environment both
pleasing in appearance and enjoyable for play.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keeps the front of the buildings and grounds clean and well manicured. This includes, but is not limited to the following: picking up trash, mowing, edging the sidewalks, trimming
fence lines, fertilizing, removing weeds from shrub beds and planters, etc.
Reports any unsafe or otherwise unsatisfactory conditions to the Grounds Foreman.
Instructs crew on the proper performance of duties and makes sure that they are performing adequately.
Organizes and executes daily schedules for crew and reviews them with the Grounds Foreman daily. Makes sure that all paperwork from the crew is accurate, current and complete before
submitting it to the Grounds Foreman daily.
Insures that all grounds equipment is in safe operating condition and that all employees are operating the equipment properly. Trains crew members in the safe and proper operation of
the grounds equipment.
Makes sure that the grounds equipment is cleaned, serviced, and lubricated daily. Oversees the performance of daily safety checks as specified by the equipment manager.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a part-time, seasonal position that runs during June, July and August. Monday through Friday is considered the normal workweek. Emergency conditions may arise that will require
attention at any hour of the day or night. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 6.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at
any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically
authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Grounds Foreman in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of heavy duty.
1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100%
Heavy >50 pounds** 40 pounds 20 pounds
**Lifts over 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
