TITLE: Job Coach – Work Experience Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma.
Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested.
To provide opportunities for high school age students with disabilities to explore career options, to experience employment opportunities, and to learn the responsibilities and benefits
of being employed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports and encourages Work Experience Program student on community job sites.
Rides the bus and monitors Work Experience students while being transported to and from the community-based job site.
Completes Community Job Training Evaluation Forms on designated students under the supervision of the Work Experience Specialist and according to the evaluation schedule.
Assists the Work Experience Specialist in gathering information regarding student performance on community job sites.
Supports Work Experience Students at school when students are not at the job site.
Administers career assessments.
Assists individual students with assignments in Work Maturity Seminar.
Models and reinforces appropriate work behaviors, such as:
Being on time to seminar and job site.
Having good attendance.
Staying on task.
Making appropriate arrangements with Work Experience Specialist when not in attendance.
Reinforces Work Experience Program rules.
Strives to improve and maintain job skills through inservice training programs and other means.
Supervises students who arrive at school before the bell rings at a central location as directed by the Work Experience Specialist and/or the administrator.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the school and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 4-5.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment
at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty.
