HomeMy WebLinkAboutTherapy Tech-Clerical AideApril 2004 TITLE: Therapy Technician/Clerical Aide. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma. Valid Idaho Driver’s License. Must have own transportation, mileage will be reimbursed by the District. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transfer students weighing up to 200 pounds with the assistance of appropriate equipment. Proficiency in word processing and other clerical skills. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Self-starter with strong organization skills. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Student Services. JOB GOALS To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test. To assist the therapists by performing clerical duties and working with children under the therapists’ supervision in accordance with the Idaho State Board of Medicine’s Supervision Requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs clerical duties such as word processing, filing, copying, preparing treatment materials, etc. Schedules students’ treatments and relays messages between the therapists and other staff members. Orders, cleans and delivers equipment as assigned. Performs exercise/activity programs with students only as directed by the therapists. Completes therapy logs for each student contact as directed by the therapists. Maintains appropriate safety standards during all contact with students and communicates any concerns or changes in condition to the therapists. Reports all medical occurrences or accidents to the building administrator as soon as possible. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the schools and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 4. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. VII. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Supervisor of Student Services in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. This position has been given an overall physical classification of medium duty. 1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100% Light 20 pounds 10 pounds < 1 pound Medium 40 pounds 20 pounds 10 pounds Heavy >50 pounds** 40 pounds 20 pounds **Lifts over 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
