TITLE: Scholastic Coach – High School
QUALIFICATIONS:
Holds a valid Idaho Teaching Certificate.
Knowledge of Scholastic Team Program.
Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Ability to work with staff, students, the public, DOE and INEEL Representatives.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator.
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To advise and provide leadership for students involved in the Scholastic Team Program.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops a fair procedure to select Scholastic Team members after an appropriate team tryout has been conducted.
Communicates with team members and parents regularly regarding scheduled Scholastic Team activities.
Conducts regular practice sessions for the team members.
Arranges for appropriate transportation to and from meets.
Accompanies the team to all scheduled meets and activities.
Meets with other coaches to schedule future local, district, regional, and state meets.
Submits a brief written report to the Building Administrator at the end of the season. This record should include the names of the team members, the results of each scheduled competition,
and any other brief statements regarding the season.
Establishes and oversees a budget for the Scholastic Team.
Maintains a direct line of communication with administration.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employed annually under the High School Scholastic Coach stipend as per the Stipend Schedule as listed in the Negotiated Master Contract between Idaho Falls School District 91 and the
Idaho Falls Education Association.
VII. EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
