TITLE: Weight Room Supervisor – High School
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently employed as a teacher and/or a coach on the staff.
Holds a valid Idaho Teaching Certificate.
Knowledge and experience regarding weight training and safety.
Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator.
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To help each participating student improve their fitness and conditioning in a safe and supervised environment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and supervises a weight training program after school hours for athletes during the summer months.
Supervises the weight room to be sure only the appropriate people are in the are and to be sure all students who uses the facility do so in a safe and constructive manner.
Keeps the weight room open and available to students during the summer.
Coordinates, with the head coaches, a weight program designed to meet the needs of individual athletes in each sport.
Makes sure all weight equipment is maintained in a safe and usable condition, that the room is clean and orderly, and that the equipment is being used for its intended purpose.
Maintains a direct line of communication with administration.
Maintains high standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employed annually as assigned by the Building Administrator.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
