TITLE: Webmaster/Programmer/Software Support Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma is required and a minimum of two years of additional training in computer science is required and a four-year degree is strongly preferred along with 3 to 5 years
of experience.
Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
Experiences in some or all of these areas is preferred:
Internet software development, specifically VB.NET, ASP.NET, javascript, and html.
RDBMS, specifically MS SQL.
Systems analysis.
Systems management.
MS Office – Word, Excel, Front Page, etc.
Macintosh and Windows OS.
School administrative software support to include, but not limited to fiscal, inventory, library records, document archival/imaging and transportation.
E. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Technology Services.
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards
Achievement Test.
To assist the Supervisor of Technology Services in managing, maintaining and enhancing the District website, administrative software development/customization and in providing technical
support of existing applications software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs webmaster duties for the District web site. Manages IIS, virtual directories, securities, etc.
Coordinates the efforts of multiple web contributors. Provides support for District 91 staff members that are designated web contributors.
Designs and supports system integration of various disparate software systems.
Writes and helps design new administrative application software and adds functionality to existing applications.
Provides technical support for business applications, contacting vendors for support as appropriate.
Documents customized applications and processes.
Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding the purchase of software and hardware.
Performs software installation/upgrades of supported application software
Performs other system management duties as assigned.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time position scheduled for 8 hours per day, 250 days per year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified
Salary Schedule as a Grade 11- 13.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment
at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Supervisor of Technology Services in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified
personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty.
1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100%
Light 20 pounds 10 pounds < 1 pound
Medium 40 pounds 20 pounds 10 pounds
Heavy >50 pounds** 40 pounds 20 pounds
**Lifts over 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
