Must be able to use technology effectively to meet the needs of students. Candidate must be able to travel between buildings. Mileage will be reimbursed. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.REPORTS TO: Building Administrator and Assistant Superintendent of Secondary EducationJOB GOALS:To serve as the primary liaison between district, high schools, and colleges and universities. Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the Advanced Program Coordinator will promote student success and respond to identified student needs by developing, managing, delivering and assessing a comprehensive Dual Credit/ Concurrent credit program that helps high school students earn college credit. This position will serve students in grades 7-12.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:PLANNING AND PREPARATION: Demonstrate knowledge of Dual Credit/concurrent and Advanced Opportunities advising techniques Establish goals for program appropriately Exhibit knowledge of State and Federal regulations and resources Design program using small groups, in-class activities, and parent/community informational meetings and presentations THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: Create an environment of respect and rapport establishing a culture for productive communication Establish standards of conduct, and contribute to the culture for Dual Credit/Concurrent credit Manage routines and procedures DELIVERY OF SERVICE: Serve as the primary Liaison between district, high school, and the college and universities. Establish partnerships between D91 secondary schools and Idaho colleges. Gather and maintain all MOU agreements between college/universities and SD91. Works collaboratively with principals, counselors, and teachers in Dual Credit and Advanced Opportunities training. Help them understand Dual Credit and Concurrent Credit and how this works in D91. Provides district wide leadership in Dual Credit/concurrent enrollment and advanced opportunities. Ensure Dual Credit and advanced opportunities are aligned with post-secondary requirements and resources. Demonstrates a broad knowledge of higher education policies, principles, and organization. Understands and applies relevant education laws and rules in the administration of the programs. Be knowledgeable on policies governing Dual Credit both at the State level and District level. Help assist in keeping board policy and procedures up to date on matters pertaining to Dual Credit/ Advanced Opportunities/ Crosswalk, etc. Demonstrates ability to analyze and evaluate outcomes and effectiveness of projects/programs using state and district reporting tools. Will promote the value of dual credit, concurrent enrollment, and career –technical course enrollment. Will also work with high school faculty and administrators to develop strategies to promote dual credit and concurrent credit. Promote and expand on-going training for high school instructors which include professional development. Work collaboratively with directors, administration, counselors, CCR’s, and Registrars. Inform students/parents and teachers of the college registration process and applying for state funding to pay for college courses. Connect students to the State of Idaho Advanced Opportunities state aid in order to help students navigate their K-12 education and provide support to ear college credit in high school. Assist students and parents in Dual Credit/Concurrent credit, advanced opportunities procedures and process. Track students as they work in Dual Credit courses and communicate to prevent problems. Oversee the transcribing of all Dual Credit and Concurrent credit on the high school transcript to ensure they are all transcribed correctly. Establish goals for the program. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITES: Attend staff, professional, and inter-agency meetings as requested Keep abreast of new developments in the field of Dual Credit/Concurrent Credit and Idaho State Advanced Opportunities program. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The annual contract will be based on 215 days of service. Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will be in accordance with the placement on the Administrator’s Salary Schedule commensurate with years of administrative experience and education. EVALUATION: Performance if this position will be evaluated annually by the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education in accordance with board policy.
