To actively support, encourage and facilitate assigned student’s access to their individual learning environments. To assist teachers and school administration in managing student problem behavior(s) as directed by the facilities lead special education teacher and or/ building administration.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides assistance to students with behavioral issues as assigned.Participates in data collection.Attends school meetings concerning assigned students.Provides tutorial assistance.Assists students in organizing materials and class assignments.Listens and resolves student issues and/or refers to the Building Principal.Provides prompts to assist student in managing behavior.Furnishes guidelines and prompts to assist the student in appropriate social behavior.Functions as a member of a team of people providingsupportto the student.Maintains accepted standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.Has regular and predictable attendance.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs all other duties as assigned.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the school and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 5.This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.EVALUATION:Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator In accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
