I. TITLE: Audio Video Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sound Engineering or 4 years of relevant experience and/or verifiable A/V certifications.
Previous experience working as an AV Technician/specialist.
In-depth knowledge of sound, video, online streaming, and lighting equipment.
Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems.
Advanced knowledge of modern filming and sound mixing techniques.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
A keen eye for detail.
High level of physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement
Test.
A successful AV Specialist will have advanced knowledge of audio and video equipment, experience with lighting and filming techniques, online streaming experience, and excellent troubleshooting
skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meeting with Event Coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
Altering venue arrangements according to layout diagrams.
Laying electrical and sound cables as needed.
Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras as needed.
Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment at events that he/she is directly managing. Inspecting mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform
to health and safety regulations.
Operating sound and visual equipment during live events he/she is directly managing.
Troubleshooting equipment and ensuring events run smoothly.
Live streaming and audio/video support of all school board meetings.
Maintaining strong customer relations.
Disassembling audio and visual equipment and packing up after events as needed.
Training of district wide personnel on systems found within their buildings to ensure they can successfully manage their minor events.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, 254 days per year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary
Schedule as a Grade 11 – 13 depending on experience.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal
law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees
of District 91.
VIII. EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the IT Endpoint Support Manager in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of Medium duty.
1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100%
Heavy >50 pounds** 40 pounds 20 pounds
**Lifts over 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
