AP 808.7 Legal Support of Teachers/Liability Policy
a. In accordance with Idaho Code, the District will maintain liability insurance to provide for the
defense and payment of all legal expenses for teachers arising out of claims brought against the
teachers for damages arising out of negligence, wrongful acts or omissions occurring while
teacher are acting within the course or scope of their employment.
b. In accordance with Idaho Code 33-524, the District will inform all district employees of their
options for professional liability insurance by providing a list of companies licensed for
professional liability insurance in Idaho at the start of each school year.
c. Employees will be required to sign a disclosure for each year verifying receipt of the list.
d. The signed disclosure forms will be kept on file by the Human Resources Department for three
years. The forms will be available for public inspection upon request.
