She asked each student to read lines from the play in front of the class. She watched the students. She needed to decide which part they would get in the play. Jenny’s friend Kayla read her lines loudly and clearly. Jenny did not like to read in front of the class. She read very softly. Jenny thought that her teacher might not let her be in the play. The next day, the teacher told the class what each of them would be in the play. The teacher asked Kayla to be the narrator. Jenny was happy. She found out she was going to be a snowflake. Jenny loved snowflakes. She liked to watch them fall slowly to the ground. She also liked to play in the snow. But Jenny didn’t understand how a person could act like a snowflake. The class practiced the play over and over. Jenny and the class learned a snowflake dance. Then, the students made their costumes from white sheets, glitter, and ribbon. The day of the play arrived. The kids met in the big room behind the theater before the play started. Jenny went early. She saw Kayla walk in the door. A lot of the other kids did not show up. A lot of the children had to stay home because they had colds. There were not very many snowflakes in the play that night. But everyone loved the play! 13 28 40 53 68 82 97 110 123 138 152 153 165 175 188 201 216 231 244 250 Total Words Read:______ - # of Errors:______ = CWPM:______
