Sara’s aunt lived in the country, and she had an enormous garden and lots of pets. She grew delicious fruit and fresh vegetables to eat. She even had chickens so she did not need to buy eggs at the store. Sara lived in the city so she always thought it was a lot of fun to visit her aunt. One summer day Sara’s mom drove her out to the country. She was going to stay with her aunt for a whole week. Sara was so happy. She knew she was going to have a great time. Sara helped her aunt collect the eggs from the chicken house. She looked carefully in each nest box to see if any new eggs had been laid. She would also look in the corners of the chicken house where her aunt had left piles of fresh straw. Sometimes, the chickens used these piles of straw as nests for their eggs. One morning, she also helped her aunt pick grapes. She had a few bunches that would not fit in the bowl. She laid them in the sun so she could come back and get them later. But Sara got so busy that she forgot about the grapes she had left in the sun. When she saw the grapes again, Sara had a big surprise. Right there where she had left the extra grapes, she found several piles of raisins. Her grapes had changed dramatically! 15 30 43 60 77 93 110 123 139 154 167 171 184 201 216 232 246 255 Total Words Read:______ - # of Errors:______ = CWPM:______
