Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM and asked for a motion to adopt the agenda. Trustee
Radcliffe made a motion to adopt the agenda. Trustee Wilson provided the second. Motion carried 5 ayes, 0
nays. At 8:31 AM Chairman Hill called for a motion to go into Executive Session. Trustee Wilson made a
motion to go into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code, Section 74-206 (1)(a). Trustee Radcliffe provided
the second. A roll call vote was taken

EXECUTIVE SESSION
Misty Swanson, Chief Deputy ISBA and the Board of Trustees met in Executive Session to interview Dr. James
Shank and discuss superintendent candidates’ qualifications.
ACTION ITEM
At 11:08 AM Chairman Hill welcomed everyone back and commented how everyone appreciates Dr. Shank
coming back in to meet with the board of trustees today. It was nice to have an open, candid discussion to
answer questions. Each Trustee made a statement of appreciation including Dr. Shank’s commitment to the
focus of student education, community involvement and outreach, recognizing the importance of the CTE
programs, commitment to all students including special education students, High Reliability Schools and it’s
culture in our district, collaboratively working with teachers and staff, transparency, and finally making regular
school event and site visits allowing staff and parents the opportunity to visit with him.
a. Possible Next Steps Forward
Trustee Wilson made a motion to extend an offer to hire Dr. Jim Shank as Superintendent of Idaho
Falls School District 91. Trustee Haacke provided the second. Trustees added comments how Dr.

Shank has been in our district before, he has gained more experience in other districts, and he will
serve our community well. Motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
Trustee Radcliffe made a motion to appoint Lara Hill as the designee to negotiate the contract terms
with Dr. Shank. Elizabeth Cogliati provided the second. No further discussion. Motion carried 5 ayes,
0 nays.
Trustee Haacke made a motion to adjourn. Trustee Wilson provided the second. Motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
Meeting adjourned at 11:17 AM.
