BOARD OF TRUSTEES -- SPECIAL BOARD MEETING \[IDAHO CODE, §74-204 (2)\]

3:00 P.M. – FRIDAY, APRIL 9, 2021

Hillary Radcliffe, Vice Chair Margaret Wimborne, Director of Communication
Larry Wilson, Treasurer & Community Engagement - Recording
Paul Haacke, Clerk
Elizabeth Cogliati, Trustee
Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM and asked for a motion to adopt the agenda. Trustee
Radcliffe made a motion to adopt the agenda. Trustee Cogliati provided the second. Motion carried 5 ayes, 0
nays. At 3:02 PM Chairman Hill called for a motion to go into Executive Session. Trustee Haacke made a
motion to go into Executive Session pursuant to Idaho Code, Section 74-206 (1)(a). Trustee Radcliffe provided
the second. A roll call vote was taken

Larry Wilson – yes
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Superintendent George Boland and the Board of Trustees met in Executive Session to discuss the
superintendent contract terms.
ACTION ITEM
At 3:32 PM Chairman Hill thanked everyone and asked for a motion for action item a.
a. Approval of Superintendent Contract Terms
Trustee Haacke made a motion to offer Dr. Jim Shank a contract to serve as Superintendent of Idaho
Falls School District 91 with a three-year term at a salary of $150,000.00 annually with benefits as
specified in the addendum. Trustee Radcliffe provided the second. No further discussion. Motion
carried 5 ayes, 0 nays.
Chairman Hill extended a very warm welcome to Dr. Jim Shank to Idaho Falls School District 91 and thanked
Brandi Moreno for jumping in and scheduling all the many meetings, the IT Department, Justin Hurley, Tito
Paredes, and Austin Cox for keeping us connected, the staff of ISBA for assisting in this process and Margaret
Wimborne for keeping the public informed. She thanked all the district administrators, principals, teachers,
and staff for sharing their input and ideas and stated we are grateful for everything they do for us and the
students of the district. She thanked the parents and patrons who shared their thoughts with the board. She
thanked her fellow board of trustees for all the many hours spent in this room and other rooms away from

their jobs and families, she truly appreciates them and finally she thanked Superintendent George Boland for
his unwavering dedication to the education of our students, and stated we are grateful for the many years and
the impact he has made on the district. Thank you all for being D91 Proud.
Trustee Radcliffe made a motion to adjourn. Trustee Cogliati provided the second. Motion carried 5 ayes, 0
nays. Meeting adjourned at 3:35 PM.
