REPORTS/INPUT/INFORMATION
a. Superintendent’s Report
Superintendent Shank thanked everyone in the community for all the support and a warm welcome. He
presented the Board with a tour of the remodeled IT center, given by Tito Parades, Director of
Information Technology. He then reported Michael Keyes and Brooke Stosich would give a Summer
School report. Board took a 10-minute break to tour the IT center.
With the Board’s return, Michael Keyes presented as the Administrator of summer school for middle
school and high schools for credit recovery, housed at Compass Academy. He stated there were 3
sessions for the middle schoolers with 154 students to accommodate all the students. He also stated
there were 3 sessions for the high schoolers with 200 students in each session. There have been 241
credits received from high school students as of today. They are still in the last session of summer school
and predict to have over 300 credits being received. So far, there are 3 graduates receiving their high
school diploma over summer school.
Brooke Stosich, Coordinator of Learning Loss Intervention presented her coordination of summer
learning school for K-8 students for students who were behind in reading and math. All students K-5
who were not proficient on the I-station Reading test in April, were invited to summer school. Also 6-8

grade students were invited if they were academically behind in reading and math. There were over 600
K-8 students that attended this summer learning school and about 100 staff members who helped out
with the program. Prior to starting the program, the intervention team and the curriculum team put
together curriculum to focus on reading and math standards and utilized research-based programs. An
Olympic theme was given to the K-6 grade levels to tie into learning and offered activities like opening
and closing ceremonies and Olympic sports presentations. A Rise up theme was given to the 6-8 grade
levels to tie into learning with community partners, counselors, and presenters that came in to talk to
students about rising up socially and emotionally. Chairman Hill asked if summer school will continue
next year. Brooke stated the learning loss funds should provide summer school opportunities for the
next three years. Brooke will continue to coordinate learning loss for possibly an after-school program
during the school year.

d. 49 Property Practice Field Development Update
th
Brandon Lee stated the 49 Property committee plans to submit detailed plans for the practice facility
to Bonneville County for their review on July 16th, 2021. They are hoping the review will only take up to
three weeks. He then stated Bateman-Hall will take the project out to bid and will take about three
weeks also. They will provide a bid summary in August and hope to begin construction by the end of
August. He noted that contractor availability is hard to find at this time. Concerns are finding qualified
contractors for pump system for irrigating property, limited seeding window, and electrical
transformers.
A committee of students was put together from the different athletic groups to come up with a name
for the facility. They have decided on the Tiger Athletic Complex (TAC) and we can refer to the facility as
TAC moving forward. Brandon also stated there is also a group working on a logo. Brandon and the
committee are requesting approval fundraising for a Founder’s wall at the TAC with a minimum
donation of $2000 for a tile or plaque. They are also requesting naming rights for donors on select items
(dugouts, benches, fields, meeting rooms). Their committee is discussing specific donor donation
amounts for these items, but would like to move forward with naming rights. Trustee Radcliffe and
Trustee Haacke stated the board policy would need to be reviewed for naming rights and sponsorship
and they would present board policy to the TAC committee to work on a plan to submit to the Board for
sponsorships. Superintendent Shank agreed for the TAC committee presenting a plan to the board after
board policy is reviewed. Trustee Hill confirmed that it is ok to move forward with Founder’s wall
project. Brandon Lee agreed on moving forward with the Founder’s wall project.
