HomeMy WebLinkAboutElementarySpecialProgramsCoordinator2018 (00000002)March 2018 TITLE: Elementary Special Programs Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate Minimum of five years teaching, coaching, and/or supervisory experience Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable REPORTS TO: Director of Elementary Education JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To support and monitor implementation of building-based Title I, English Learner, Migrant, and Gifted and Talented instructional programs. To support and monitor implementation of the K-3 Literacy Initiative supplemental reading program. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with planning, organization, and implementation of building-level supplemental instruction programs. Develops and provides training to administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals on program protocols, supplemental resources, and instructional strategies. Facilitates building-level implementation of federal, state, and local program guidance. Provides training on developing and progress monitoring Title I student intervention plans, K-3 Reading plans, English Learner plans, and Gifted and Talented Learner plans. Reviews district and building-level student achievement data to monitor and adjust intervention and enrichment programs to best meet student needs. Reviews instructional materials and makes recommendations regarding adoption of supplemental resources and instructional strategies. Supervises English learner placement testing, ACCESS for ELs annual testing, and progress monitoring. Supervises Gifted and Talented screening, ability and achievement testing, program placement, and progress monitoring. Compiles district-level data for students served by Title I, K-3 Reading, EL, Migrant, and GT programs. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of a teacher, the Idaho Code of Ethics, and the negotiated contract. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will be in accordance with the placement on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Student Achievement and School Improvement in accordance with provisions of the negotiated master agreement and board policy.
