Possess a current Food Handlers Card. Ability to work with staff, students and the public. Strong math and communication skill Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds. Willingness to try new ideas. Physically able to perform assigned duties. Available to work on short notice in any cafeteria position. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Supervisor. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test. To serve the students and staff nutritious and attractive meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Knows and follows nutritional guidelines. Participates in the preparation and serving of food. Prepares and packs food to be sent to satellite schools. Participates in the cleaning of kitchen, serving, storage, and dining areas. Knows and follows health and sanitation procedures. Performs dishwashing duties as assigned. Performs major cleaning assignments at regularly scheduled intervals as directed by the cafeteria manager. Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains accurate records and completes assigned paperwork. Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is an on-call position. Wages will be in accordance with the Substitute Salary Schedule at a rate of $8.50 - $9.00 per hour. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Child Nutrition Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
