Possess a current Food Handlers Card—preferred. Two years’ experience in clerical or secretarial work requiring frequent contact with the public, strongly preferred. Strong time management skills. Knowledge of basic computer software applications i.e., Microsoft word and Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Physically able to perform assigned duties—Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Supervisor. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test. To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the child nutrition program so that the program’s maximum positive impact on the education and health of children can be achieved. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Familiar with and adheres to USDA nutritional regulations. Performs general banking duties as needed. Coordinates appointments and arrangements for conferences, trainings, and interviews. Tracks non-sufficient funds checks and works with Comptroller on the progress of funds recovery. Enters inventory information from all of the schools into inventory tracking system. Maintains accurate records and completes all required paperwork in a timely manner. Understands and adheres to health and sanitation procedures. Performs required secretarial and clerical duties. Coordinates catering requests: provides pricing and invoices, receives orders, coordinates logistics Works with CN Supervisor to accurately input monthly reimbursement claims to the state. Must demonstrate basic knowledge of nutrient analysis software, i.e., accessing monthly menus. Tracks and maintains record of CN staff attendance at all school locations. Answers the telephone in a pleasant and professional manner—directing caller to appropriate staff member. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is scheduled for 200 days. The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 6-8. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Child Nutrition Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
