Must have 32 college credits or pass the ETS ParaPro Exam. Ability to work cooperatively with school personnel and other program staff. Training and experience in clerical duties. Good organization ability, keyboarding skills, telephone etiquette, general knowledge of appropriate office procedures. Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn student records program. Ability to work and communicate in a positive manner with staff, students, and the public. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Director of Federal Programs and Assessment. JOB GOAL: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Federal Programs department for the ultimate education benefit of the students served by performing a variety of data entry, record keeping tasks, testing of ELL students, and other general secretarial duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Flags and updates Federal Programs data on the student records program. Prints test results for the Woodcock Munoz Language Survey and sends them to the proper destination. Scans testing information into the appropriate folder. Receives incoming telephone calls and takes messages for the Federal Programs Office. Files purchase orders and receipt information. Gathers supplemental materials for staff members when requested. Assists the Federal Programs Administrative Assistant with special projects. Administers pre and posttests of the IELA Placement Exam and/or Woodcock Munoz Language Survey as requested. Is thoroughly knowledgeable about Federal Programs eligibility requirements. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information. Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 4. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Federal Programs and Assessment in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. The majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk working on the computer, answering the telephone, completing paperwork and scanning documents. Movement within the office is required to deliver documents and messages and gather information as needed.
