Proficiency in the secretarial skills of typing, filing, office procedures, operations of office equipment and machines. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Strong organizational skills. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Counseling Department by assisting Administrators as well as Counselors so that maximum positive impact on the education and self esteem of students can be achieved. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Updates and maintains student transcripts, grades, student records, and special education data. Assists new students with the registration process. Maintains student and parent information in the District’s student records management software. Tracks and enters open enrollment information for students outside school boundaries. Coordinates the registration process with the school counselors, administrators, and elementary schools. Inputs and maintains the Master Schedule of courses and teaching assignments. Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence for the counselors and administrators as instructed. Coordinates the counselors appointments and arranges for conferences and interviews. Performs routine clerical duties; such as filing, placing and receiving telephone calls, etc. Assists other office personnel with duties as needed. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 5. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. VII. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator and the Counselors in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
