Previous experience and/or training in accounting or bookkeeping. Strong computer skills. Proficiency in clerical skills of filing, operating calculators and other office machines, etc. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Jr. High School office so that the maximum positive impact on the education of students may be achieved and to assist in the administration of the school’s financial affairs so as to provide the maximum services for the financial resources available. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Handles cash transactions. Balances cash drawer and makes bank deposits as needed. Creates school purchase orders as needed, receives invoices, and writes checks as needed. Processes p-card transactions on a weekly basis. Maintains financial records of all accounts. Balances all accounts monthly. Prepares monthly financial reports for both internal and district accounts. Maintains and distributes information regarding Education Foundation accounts. Receives and distributes memos, e-mails, and other information to the appropriate staff members. Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence as instructed. Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed and puts it into a usable form. Processes work orders and District requests to purchase. Tracks staff attendance, including substitute teacher records. Orders and maintains an inventory of supplies. Maintains a regular filing system. Places and receives telephone calls cordially and accurately records messages. Supervises the preparation of all newsletters and other mailings using correct bulk mailing procedures. Maintains a list of students who owe fines, including participation fees and activity card fees. Welcomes visitors graciously and assists them as needed. Assists with basic duties in the office. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. Coordinates the principal’s appointments and schedule as requested. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full-time position. The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 7. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
