HomeMy WebLinkAboutHealth Services Clerical AideNovember 2004 TITLE: Health Services Clerical Aide QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to staff, students and families. Valid Idaho Drivers License. Ability to work and communicate with staff, students and the public. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. Physically able to perform assigned duties. Basic knowledge of clerical procedures. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Student Services. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test. To assist the school nurses in the smooth and efficient operation of the school health services to realize that service’s maximum positive impact on the educational environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains accurate health records for the district’s students. Performs student height, weight and vision screenings. Restocks first aid supplies. Gathers information for state immunization reports. Provides written notification to parents of students who need added immunizations. Locates and files student health records. Coordinates efforts with school nurses and informs them of progress. Completes required paperwork. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the schools and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 3. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Supervisor of Student Services in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty. 1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100% Light 20 pounds 10 pounds < 1 pound Medium 40 pounds 20 pounds 10 pounds Heavy >50 pounds** 40 pounds 20 pounds **Lifts over 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
