HomeMy WebLinkAboutHomebound ParaprofessionalNovember 2014 TITLE: Homebound Paraprofessional QUALIFICATIONS: Strong communication skills. Valid Idaho driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must have own reliable transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed by the district. Strong computer skills and proficient in Outlook. Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To ensure that homebound children in the district identified as capable of benefiting from instruction be provided with an ongoing educational program. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Picks up student assignments from the school and delivers them to homebound students. Performs routine visits to students at home and returns completed assignments to the school. Meets with the student and parent in the home to outline the homebound study program. Maintains time and mileage records. Checks out and returns instructional materials from regular teachers. Maintains file of current and past homebound students Seeks out opportunities for professional growth. Has regular and predictable attendance. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the school and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 5. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Student Services in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty. 1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100% Light 20 pounds 10 pounds < 1 pound Medium 40 pounds 20 pounds 10 pounds Heavy >50 pounds** 40 pounds 20 pounds **Lifts over 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
