HomeMy WebLinkAboutLunchroom Duty AideNovember 2004 TITLE: Lunchroom Duty Aide QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Patient, yet firm. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. Physically able to perform assigned duties. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test. To help establish and maintain a calm and pleasant atmosphere in the lunchroom so that students may enjoy their mealtime. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Helps students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition. Assists students as needed. Organizes students for orderly disposal of food, trays and utensils. Circulates among the tables during the meal period so as to be available to help children who need assistance and resolves any minor problems that may arise. Cleans tables as needed and assists with the cleanup of minor spills. Follows the District Discipline policy under the direction of the Building Administrator. Informs the Building Administrator of any serious infractions. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the school and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 3. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty. 1 – 33% 34 – 66% 67-100% Light 20 pounds 10 pounds < 1 pound Medium 40 pounds 20 pounds 10 pounds Heavy >50 pounds** 40 pounds 20 pounds **Lifts over 50 pounds with proper body mechanics and 2 or more workers.
