HomeMy WebLinkAboutPSR or BI-ProJULY 2014 TITLE: Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Specialist / Behavioral Intervention Professional QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Behavioral Science or Medicine and meets the qualifications for PSR as defined in Idaho Code. For BI-Pro, Habilitative Intervention Professional or certified IBI Professional prior to July 1, 2013. Course work in the areas of psychology, social work, special education, counseling, rehabilitation, etc. Emotionally mature and stable. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Previous experience working with children and adolescents. Ability to obtain and maintain Mandt certification in all areas. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. Able to perform assigned tasks. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To conduct a functional behavior analysis and assist students with emotional disturbance by implementing services as prescribed by the Individual Education Plan or Behavior Intervention Plan. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Delivers interventions in the area of appropriate school related behaviors and interpersonal skills including using restraints in the management of aggressive behavior. Monitors, collects and reports progress data to school team for students with challenging behaviors. Attends school meetings concerning assigned students. Works with a variety of students throughout the district as assigned. Provides support related to activities of daily living in areas such as personal hygiene, transportation and money management. Maintains Mandt certification in all areas including conceptual, relationships, and technical. Assists students in organizing materials and class assignments. Listens and resolves student issues and/or refers to the Building Principal. Provides prompts to assist student in managing behavior. Furnishes guidelines and prompts to assist the student in appropriate social behavior. Functions as a member of a team of people providing assistance to the student. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Has regular and predictable attendance. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The exact terms will be determined by the needs of the school and budgetary constraints. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 9. This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Student Services in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
