HomeMy WebLinkAboutCheerleader Advisor - H SFebruary 2001 TITLE: Cheerleader Advisor – High School QUALIFICATIONS: Certified cheer instructor with AACCA. Patient, understanding, with the ability to persevere. Knowledge of all aspects of cheerleading safety. Ability to budget both income and expenses. Genuine interest in high school students. Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate preferred. Ability to work with staff, students and the public. Ability to resolve conflicts between parents or team members. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To help each participating student gain and increase self-discipline and cheerleading skills, and to promote accomplishment in each individual and the team as a whole. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts tryouts for the head cheerleader and the cheerleading team in the spring. Arranges and conducts summer practices. Prepares a team workout that fits both the team and individual needs. Makes contact with parents on a regular basis. Supervises and conducts all practices. Schedules and oversees all summer activities. Attends a majority of games or arranges for adequate supervision. Transports team to selected away games or arranges for transportation. Carries out policies, procedures and discipline as stated in the District Policy Manual as applicable to cheerleading. Tends to injuries and uses preventative measures to avoid injuries. Organizes and monitors fundraising in cooperation with booster groups. Collects and deposits all money and maintains a record of expenses. Prepares the yearly trip itinerary and expenses. Is responsible for the welfare and safety of all team members. Maintains a direct line of communication with administration. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employed annually under the High School Cheerleader Advisor stipend as per the Stipend Schedule as listed in the Negotiated Master Contract between Idaho Falls School District 91 and the Idaho Falls Education Association. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
