HomeMy WebLinkAboutCheerleader Advisor - Jr HAugust 2011 TITLE: Cheerleader Advisor – Junior High QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of all aspects of cheerleading safety. Genuine interest in junior high school students. Ability to work with staff, students and the public. Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate preferred. Ability to resolve conflicts between parents or team members. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To help each participating student gain and increase self-discipline and cheerleading skills, and to promote accomplishment in each individual and the team as a whole. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Organizes and supervises election of cheerleading squad Arranges and conducts all cheerleading practices. Prepares a team workout that fits both the team and individual needs. Makes contact with parents on a regular basis. Accompanies cheerleaders on all road trips to supervise and chaperone. Instructs and directs cheerleaders in crowd control methods. Attends all home contests for assigned sport. Supervises cheerleaders at all contests. Carries out policies, procedures and discipline as stated in the District Policy Manual as applicable to cheerleading. Tends to injuries and uses preventative measures to avoid injuries. Maintains the cheerleading budget and purchases uniforms. Is responsible for the welfare and safety of all team members. Maintains a direct line of communication with administration. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employed annually under the Junior High School Cheerleader Advisor stipend as per the Stipend Schedule as listed in the Negotiated Master Contract between Idaho Falls School District 91 and the Idaho Falls Education Association. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
