HomeMy WebLinkAboutDrill Team Advisor -High SchoolFebruary 2001 TITLE: Drill Team Advisor – High School QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates skill and experience in dance, drill, or other comparable group activities. Holds a valid Idaho Teaching Certificate. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill and an increased level of self-esteem. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and implements a well-organized and competitive drill team program for all qualified students. Supervises and provides guidance for the students involved in drill team to ensure they are performing in a safe and acceptable manner. Supervises students while away from home for drill team activities to assure proper and prudent conduct. Assumes responsibility for all fundraising activities of the organization. Develops, with team input, current team rules and by-laws. Conducts meetings with parents and team members on a regularly scheduled basis. Is responsible for the welfare and safety of all team members. Maintains a direct line of communication with administration. Tends to injuries and uses preventative measures to avoid injuries. Carries out policies, procedures and discipline as stated in the District Policy Manual as applicable to drill teams. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employed annually under the High School Drill Team Advisor stipend as per the Stipend Schedule as listed in the Negotiated Master Contract between Idaho Falls School District 91 and the Idaho Falls Education Association. VII. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
