HomeMy WebLinkAboutVocal Music Director - HSFebruary 2001 TITLE: Vocal Music Director – High School QUALIFICATIONS: Holds a valid Idaho Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in vocal music. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To develop in each student an appreciation of music; to teach techniques of vocal music expression; and to discover and develop talents of students in the field of vocal music. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops, promotes, supervises, and directs a minimum of one concert during each grading period. Assists in the District 91 musical as needed. Attends and supervises students at District and State music contests and clinics which relate to vocal music programs. Performs at community functions at the direction of the Building Administrator. Attends and participates in faculty and departmental meetings on the building and district level. Actively supports music in the community. Participates in graduation services as directed by the Building Administrator. Communicates with choir members and parents regularly regarding scheduled choir activities. Arranges for appropriate transportation to and from music contests and clinics. Maintains a direct line of communication with administration. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employed annually under the High School Vocal Music Director stipend as per the Stipend Schedule as listed in the Negotiated Master Contract between Idaho Falls School District 91 and the Idaho Falls Education Association. VII. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
