HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOVID related dutiesOctober 28, 2020 TITLE: COVID-19 Related Duties QUALIFICATIONS: Currently employed as a teacher. Holds a valid Idaho Instructional/Pupil Personnel Certificate. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Building Administrator. JOB GOAL: To complete the unique extra duties associated with COVID-19 to ensure student needs are met. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: COVID related duties may include the following: Contacts and meets with students and parents outside of contract hours in-person, virtually, over the phone or through e-mail. Works with isolating students to ensure educational needs are met. Converts lesson plans for use in an online environment. Creates and uploads instructional videos to a learning management system. Prepares assignments and materials in multiple formats to best meet student needs and circumstances. Develops and supports students’ Individual Distance learning, 504 and Individual Education Plans in response to COVID and hybrid learning environments. Rearranges the classroom environment to meet social distancing guidelines as possible. Creates and reinforces COVID-related routines including social distancing and the wearing of masks. Performs contact tracing when a student tests positive for COVID-19 including after contract hours, and on non-contract days as requested by the employee’s supervisor. Assists with sanitizing the classroom environment. Maintains high standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality. Fulfills other responsibilities as assigned by the building administrator. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Idaho Falls School District 91 will use CARES funding for current certificated staff to compensate for additional hours related to the reopening of school during the COVID-19 pandemic. Full-time certificated staff will be compensated for approximately one hour per contract day for the period from August 21, 2020 to December 18, 2020 at the hourly teacher rate of $30 per hour. Certificated staff working less than .50 FTE will be compensated for half an hour per contract day for the period from August 21, 2020 to December 18, 2020. Compensation for staff who were not contracted for the full period will be prorated. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator as part of the teacher evaluation process in accordance with the Negotiated Master Contract.
