HomeMy WebLinkAboutDirector of Curriculum PDMay 2021 TITLE: Director of Curriculum and Professional Development QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Idaho School Administrator Certificate. Previous experience in educational administration as a building principal. Teaching/supervisory experience totaling ten or more years. Minimum of four years of full-time certificated experience working with students, Pre-K-12, while under contract in a school setting. Previous experience in curriculum development, assessment, professional development, and digital integration. Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools JOB GOALS: To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement. To provide leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district’s K-12 curriculum, assessment, professional development, and digital integration. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Is responsible for the development, alignment, adoption, and evaluation of K-12 curriculum. Is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff training and professional development supporting curriculum, instruction, assessment and digital integration. Promotes instructional technology and identifies areas of curriculum and instruction best served by technology use. Is responsible for developing and maintaining a system for the distribution of assessment data for use by the professional staff. Partners with IT Director to ensure smooth rollout and ongoing support of digital learning products. Collaborates with other members of the District Administrative Team (DAT) to plan and implement district-wide initiatives. Supervises coordinators of curriculum, assessment, and digital integration. Assists in the development and coordination of the sections of the budget that pertain to curriculum, assessment, professional development, and digital integration. Oversees implementation, professional development, and evaluation of district curriculum and technology adoptions. Supervises the assessment program of the district, including state and district-wide programs. Leads coordinators to identify and evaluate appropriate software, hardware and programs to support teaching and learning. Directs the creation of all print and electronic curriculum and instructional technology resources and edits them for publication. Communicates the adopted curriculum to the professional staff and maintains a library of adopted instructional materials. Works with coordinators to facilitate grade level and departmental meetings to effect horizontal and vertical alignment of the instructional program throughout the district. Maintains a current common course manual to show graduation requirements, approved courses, credits allowed, and any pertinent information useful to students and staff for registration purposes. Assists with managing and planning D91 Online Academy in an administrative role. Prepares periodic reports for presentation to district administrators, the Board of Trustees, and/or other community groups as appropriate. Attends the Board of Trustee meetings as directed Seeks out opportunities for professional growth. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs all other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The annual contract will be based on 241 days of service (twelve months). Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will be in accordance with the placement on the Administrator’s Salary Schedule commensurate with years of experience and education. EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools in accordance with board policy.
