TITLE: Roving Child Nutrition Worker
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma preferred.
Knowledge of kitchen procedures and management.
Meet minimum USDA Professional Standards for School Nutrition Professionals.
Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
Strong math skills.
Strong communication skills.
Willingness to try new ideas.
Knowledge of USDA Regulations for Breakfast and Lunch programs.
Maintain confidentiality.
Possess a current Food Handlers Card.
Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
Physically able to perform assigned duties.
Previous experience preferred.

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Supervisor
JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student.
To serve the students and staff nutritious and attractive meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knows and follows USDA nutritional guidelines.
Participates in the preparation and serving of food as needed.
Complete understanding of foodservice management software.
Complete understanding of the P.O.S. System.
Assist CN Supervisor with trainings and meetings.
Knows and follows health and sanitation procedures.
Performs major cleaning assignments at regularly scheduled intervals as needed.
Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
Assumes kitchen manager responsibilities, as needed.
Assumes cooking responsibilities as needed.
Liaison between CN Supervisor and school locations.
Assist with coverage for Cashier, serving, kitchen coverage, warehouse.
Provide training to school staff as needed.
Ability to communicate and receive/accept instruction.
Maintain a positive, and healthy work environment in all locations.
Assist the Child Nutrition supervisor in implementing the District’s Wellness Policy.
Communicate effectively with employees, encouraging a productive and efficient workplace.
Ensure high standards of nutrition, cleanliness, appearance of food, and health and safety standards are maintained.
Comply with the CN Dress Code Policy.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains accurate records and completes assigned paperwork.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is scheduled for 195 days 7 hours per day. The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be
in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade range: 4-5.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment
at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Child Nutrition Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of medium duty.

Assist CN Supervisor with trainings and meetings
Knows and follows health and sanitation procedures.
Performs major cleaning assignments at regularly scheduled intervals as needed.
Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
Assumes kitchen manager responsibilities, as needed.
Assumes cooking responsibilities as needed.
Liaison between CN Supervisor and school locations
Offer recommendations to kitchen managers and cashiers—routinely visit kitchens and satellite schools
Ensure high standards of nutrition, cleanliness, appearance of food, and health and safety standards are maintained
Report to CN Supervisor the following: recommendations and/or concerns regarding training of assigned kitchen personnel as well as general kitchen/cafeteria environment.
Assist with coverage
Cashier, serving, kitchen coverage, warehouse
Maintain a positive, and healthy work environment in all locations
Ability to communicate, and receive/accept instruction
Provide training to school staff as needed
Assist the Child Nutrition supervisor in implementing the District’s Wellness Policy
Communicate effectively with employees; encouraging a productive and efficient workplace
Comply with the CN Dress Code Policy
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains accurate records and completes assigned paperwork.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is scheduled for 195 days. The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the district and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with
approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade range: 5-6.
This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The “employment
at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Child Nutrition Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of medium duty.
